This was one of our annual trips back to PA for the Christmas holiday season. We stayed at Donna’s parents’ house and made frequent visits to see the kids and grandkids. It’s always fun to go back to Pennsylvania to see everyone.

This page contains pictures and information about camping trips and other travel within the US. It also includes visits that family members and others made to our area and home. It is arranged chronologically starting with the most recent trip/visit. Scroll down to see all the entries. One of my lifetime goals has been to visit all the national parks in the US. When Donna & I travel, we also go out of our way to visit national monuments, seashores, memorials, battlefields, preserves, parkways, recreation areas, rivers, scenic trails, lakeshores and national historic sites. So, you may wonder ‐ why have I chosen this as a goal? The answer is simple – as a citizen of this great country, I, like you, am one of the many owners of these national treasures. As such, I consider it a priority to go visit what I own and enjoy the scenic wonders, the incredible memorials, and the cherished wilderness that so many have fought and died to give us this privilege. Having said that, I dedicate this section of my website to my parents, my kids and grandkids; and the rest of my family, especially my wife, who have honored my traveling addiction over the last several decades.
Chile (Inbound) RFE – November 2012
A select group of men from Chile were hosted by the Rotary Club of West El Paso. There were 11 men and each one went to a separate West El Paso Rotary Club family. We toured Las Cruces and various other places around El Paso, then held a barbeque at our house the Saturday before they went back to Chile.
RVF Rally – Goldpoint, NV – October 2012
This was a camping trip that I did on my own. Donna was back in PA at the time. I went with the RVF (Recreational Vehicle Fellowship) group. This is an old ghost town that is being renovated by a guy named Herb. It has an original saloon where he serves meals and drinks, and the whole town is typical of the wild west back in the day. We also did a lot of 4-wheeling in the desert and stopped to see a castle that one man is building for himself.
Estes Park, CO – September 2012
We went to Estes Park to camp and see the John Denver tribute concert. They hold this every Labor Day weekend and this was our second time for the event. Camping in this area is really what camping is all about. The mountains are beautiful. Visit our blog site for more information: http://cdbtravel.blogspot.com/2012/09/nine-months-prior-to-start.html
Northwest RV Trip – September 2011
This was a month-long trip to the northwest, starting in New Mexico and moving on to Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Ten of those days were spent with the Rotary RVF group, mostly in Oregon and Washington. We stopped at several National Parks, camped in great spots in all parts of the northwest, and had a great time sight-seeing and enjoying fellowship with the RVF group.
