This was a trip we took with Chris, Keith and a friend to the Ohiopyle, PA river to enjoy a day rafting through the rapids.

This page contains pictures and information about camping trips and other travel within the US. It also includes visits that family members and others made to our area and home. It is arranged chronologically starting with the most recent trip/visit. Scroll down to see all the entries. One of my lifetime goals has been to visit all the national parks in the US. When Donna & I travel, we also go out of our way to visit national monuments, seashores, memorials, battlefields, preserves, parkways, recreation areas, rivers, scenic trails, lakeshores and national historic sites. So, you may wonder ‐ why have I chosen this as a goal? The answer is simple – as a citizen of this great country, I, like you, am one of the many owners of these national treasures. As such, I consider it a priority to go visit what I own and enjoy the scenic wonders, the incredible memorials, and the cherished wilderness that so many have fought and died to give us this privilege. Having said that, I dedicate this section of my website to my parents, my kids and grandkids; and the rest of my family, especially my wife, who have honored my traveling addiction over the last several decades.
Key Largo, FL Trip – July 2000
This was another Mannino Family trip – this time to the Florida Keys. Most of the time was spent in Key Largo at a hotel/resort area. Visits were made to Key West and to the Florida Everglades. Carey was here part of the time. He had to fly back to PA early because of a flood in one of his rental properties.
Pocono’s Balloon Festival – October 1999
This trip was to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. It was in the Pocono mountains of northern Pennsylvania during the fall foliage season. Spectacular sights from the air. Here is the original posting for the event:
October 15 thru 17 – 15th Annual Shawnee Fall Foliage Balloon Festival at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, Shawnee-on-Delaware. General entertainment to include Noah’s World Petting Zoo, trampolines, a hole-in-one contest on the golf course, wine and microbrew beer samplings, car shows, even pig racing!! Be sure to see the fireworks on Saturday night. A wide variety of crafters and merchandisers will display their wares and great food choices will be available. Portland, OR to Visit Carl – August 1999
We visited Carl, Donna’s brother, who was living in Oregon at the time. Jan & Steve Penn also joined us. Carl took us on a hike; he took us to see various waterfalls in the area, and all of us went on a fishing trip to Washington state. The most memorable part of this trip was the fact that Carl’s van was stolen while it was sitting in front of his house.
Western US Road Trip – July 1999
This trip was the first trip we took Keith and Chris across the country to visit my family in Dallas & El Paso. We visited Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands NP, Elephant Butte Lake, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon (did a mule ride), Bryce Canyon, Zion, Pike’s Peak, Mesa Verde NP and the Indianapolis Speedway. We traveled in our Toyota Sienna van and stopped at inexpensive motels at each location.
