RV camping is a popular way to explore the great outdoors while still enjoying the comforts of home. RV stands for “recreational vehicle,” and these vehicles come in a variety of sizes and styles, from small trailers to large motorhomes. RV camping provides the flexibility to travel at your own pace, with the freedom to choose your own route and schedule. RVs typically have all the amenities of a home, including kitchen and bathroom facilities, sleeping areas, and entertainment options. Many RV parks and campgrounds offer full hookups for electricity, water, and sewage, as well as amenities like swimming pools, playgrounds, and hiking trails. RV camping allows travelers to experience nature up close and personal, with the ability to explore national parks, forests, and other natural areas. However, RV camping also requires some preparation and planning, such as obtaining proper permits, researching campground options, and ensuring that the RV is properly maintained and equipped. Despite the preparation required, RV camping can provide a unique and memorable outdoor adventure for those who love to travel and explore.
We went to Estes Park to camp and see the John Denver tribute concert. They hold this every Labor Day weekend and this was our second time for the event. Camping in this area is really what camping is all about. The mountains are beautiful. Visit our blog site for more information: http://cdbtravel.blogspot.com/2012/09/nine-months-prior-to-start.html
This was a trip with the RVF camping group to Canton, TX, home of the largest flea market/yard sale in Texas. Known as First Monday Trade Days, this is a monthly event – the first Monday of each month (sunup to sundown). You can buy almost anything you want at this place.
This was a month-long trip to the northwest, starting in New Mexico and moving on to Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Ten of those days were spent with the Rotary RVF group, mostly in Oregon and Washington. We stopped at several National Parks, camped in great spots in all parts of the northwest, and had a great time sight-seeing and enjoying fellowship with the RVF group. See our blog for more information: http://northwestrollingadventure.blogspot.com/
We took this trip with the camper, and Audrey and her kids joined us. We camped in the National Park and hiked on the Canyon Rim trail. The kids really enjoyed it. From there we went to Walnut Creek Canyon for a tour. This is where the kids got their Jr. Ranger badges.

We took this camping trip to Solvang, California to meet the RVF (Recreational Vehicle Fellowship) group from the Pacific zone. Solvang is a beautiful little Danish city nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley of California. On the way we stopped to visit Donna’s brother Carl & his family in Vista for a few days. We spent 4 days with the RVF group at Solvang, touring various areas, including a local Air Force base, then headed home by way of Las Vegas. We wanted to see the new bridge near Hoover Dam. After we took the bridge tour we returned to our camper for the trip home.
We took this trip in the camper to get away for a while. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery at Sedona and did some hiking and sightseeing in Zion National Park.
A distinguished contingent of Rotarians hailing from El Paso, TX and Clovis, NM embarked on a Rotary Friendship Exchange journey to Deep River, Ontario, Canada. During our visit, we were graciously welcomed by fellow members of various Rotary Clubs in the region. Our time there was nothing short of exceptional, and it was during this visit that we became acquainted with a Rotary project aimed at constructing homes in El Salvador. This discovery led us to actively engage in the project, and we participated in two missions—one in November 2010 and another in November 2011.
This was a 5-week trip in our camper, which began in New Mexico (home), then to Branson, MO, then to State College, PA to attend Chris’s graduation from Penn State. From there we visited the family in York, Harrisburg and Lebanon, Pa. after which we headed up the northeast coast to Plymouth, MA where we met my friend Jim Maxon. He traveled with us along the coast, up to Maine. After Jim went home, Donna & I headed further north to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, then back through Vermont where we met began the RFE visit with the Canadian team. We spent 10 days with them traveling all over southeast Ontario, Ottowa, Montreal & Niagara Falls, after which we went back to PA for a short visit then headed home by way of Georgia and Florida. It was quite a trip.

This is a trip we took with our local camping group to Durango. We spent a week with them, toured the Durango and Silverton areas, then headed west to the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The campground at Durango was a beautiful spot right on the river, and the trip to Silverton was incredible.
We took this trip with our local camping group – Bordertown Sam’s. The town is about 30 miles from Ruidoso, NM and hidden in the mountains. We shared food and fellowship and did some hiking with the group. The deer came right up to the food pavilion. We took my Mom & Dad along with us on this trip.
